About Bishop Henderson

Bishop Uleses C. Henderson, Jr. loves God and His people. Bishop Henderson has a heart for transforming lives through the practical teaching of God’s word. Bishop Henderson believes that the Word of God is no good to you if it cannot work for you.

Bishop Henderson is married to the love of his life, Natoya Henderson and they share an athletic, handsome, and intellectual son, Uleses III.

While Bishop Henderson could be found preaching in diapers in his late uncle’s, Bishop W.B. Henderson, living room, he preached his first official message in 2003 at his home church, West Angeles Church of God in Christ. Mentored by Presiding Bishop Emeritus Charles E. Blake Sr., Bishop Henderson was ordained as an Elder in the Church of God in Christ in 2010 by Bishop Joe Louis Ealy.

In January 2021, Bishop Henderson was appointed by Presiding Bishop Emeritus Charles Blake, Sr. to the office of Auxiliary Bishop in the Church of God In Christ. Bishop Henderson was consecrated to the office in June 2021.

In September 2021, Bishop Henderson was recommended by the membership of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ to serve as their pastor and, on September 18, 2021, Bishop Henderson was appointed by Bishop Joe Louis Ealy to the pastorate of Emmanuel. Under Bishop Henderson’s leadership, Emmanuel continues to grow exponentially.

Bishop Henderson enjoys learning. A former rocket scientist at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia, Bishop Henderson received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University; his Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology; and his Juris Doctorate from Loyola of Los Angeles Law School.

In addition to the pastoral call, Bishop Henderson is an accomplished intellectual property attorney and partner at law firm One LLP. In addition to his regular law practice, Bishop Henderson formally served as General Counsel of the Church Of God In Christ, and currently serves as Chairman of the Church Of God In Christ Publishing Board, Team Chaplain for the Los Angeles Lakers, and Chief Deputy General Counsel and Senior Advisor on Faith-Based Initiatives for the National Bar Association.

In addition to those capacities, Bishop Henderson further serves the Church of God in Christ as a member of the Board of Directors of Pontotoc LLC.

Bishop Henderson also serves his community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Union Rescue Mission, the largest private homeless shelter in the country.

Bishop Henderson is committed to preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which changes hearts to transform lives.
